Martin Towers
lives in Birmingham
where he works as a housing officer. Poetry was always
his first love - but, in his own words, he didn't ever get
very far. He turned to writing short stories about 12
months ago and immediately felt at home with it. He
has had a good year since then with acceptances from several
magazines as well as placings in other competitions.
3rd Prize (£150) Jonathan Pinnock Return to Cairo
Jonathan Pinnock was joint second prizewinner in our 2008 short story competition. These are Jonathan's own words, "Since his last visit to Derby, Jonathan has won a few more prizes here and there and has had fiction and poetry published in several places, including Litro, Short Story Radio and Tales of the Decongested.
