The City of Derby Writing Competition was formally established in 2006.  This page provides links to details of previous year's judges and winners.

2006

The judges for the 2006 competition were Michael Hulse (short stories) and Ian Parks (poetry).  The results of the 2006 short story competition can be seen by clicking here.  The results of the 2006 poetry competition can be seen by clicking here.  The award ceremony was held on 5th August 2006 at the University of Derby.

In 2006, 294 poems were entered into the competition and 335 short stories.  Entries were submitted from 16 countries.

2007

The judges for the 2007 competition were Martin Goodman (short stories) and Jane Draycott (poetry).  The results of the 2007 short story competition will shortly be available on this website by clicking here.  The results of the 2007 poetry competition will shortly be available on this website by clicking here.  The award ceremony was held on 17th October 2007 at The Voicebox, Forman Street, Derby.

In 2007, 416 poems were entered into the competition and 498 short stories.  Entries were submitted from 23 countries.

2008
