Adrian lives in Derby and lectures in creative writing at the city's University.  He originally studied English at Swansea University, and has for many years been an active poet.  Several of his works have seen success in a number of well-established poetry competitions, and his first collection The Blameless Life was published in 1997.  His most recent collection is One Man Queue, published by Leafe Press (2004).  He was the first Poet Laureate for the county of Nottinghamshire (1999-2000), during which period he wrote a weekly poetry column in the Nottingham Evening Post, and since 2003 has been editor of Poetry Nottingham.   He has delivered workshops, poetry readings, lectures and competition adjudications to literary societies, written poetry reviews for local press and literary journals and engaged in literature development work in association with local authorities in both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to commission participation of writers in Arts/Writing festivals.  His poetry reviews and critical essays have been published in a number of Poetry Magazines including Orbis, Staple, Acumen, London Magazine and Critical Survey.
